Lesbian-iceberg lettuce is cold and green with envy.
Gay goats-cheese is tart, thick and creamy.
Bisexual-bacon is half streaky, half rind.
Trangender-tomato is ripe with new seeds.
What a meal they make,
squashed together,
club sandwich.
Swallow each other whole.
Eat each other alive.
Bed is a Pleasant Country
Bed is a pleasant country
at ease with its peaceful history.
A benevolent autocracy that spreads
the wisdom of its calmness widely.
Bed has a wisdom without words that eases
and curls its citizens into a fox’s doze;
minds cushioned, bodies coffee warm,
cookie dough, oven ready for sleep.
Bed is a Utopian state ruled by fantasists.
A gentle tossing and turning
does not disturb the peaceful accord
between the tranquil snooze treaty.
Bed is a womb warm bliss of primal memory,
a protectorate that nourishes with its boundaries.
May bed reign a restful century,
asleep in its own satisfaction.
Bed is the century worth sleeping for.
Life is the great war of the tired.
War, the decision of the exhausted.
Bed is the great peace of the content.
Bed is the arena where equality lies.
Bed is the President of the United States of Zzzzzz....
Bed proclaims: ‘Shut up and come to me.’
Bed is always right.
